For a while now, we’ve been looking for a property where we can keep and train horses. This has been a difficult search with many complications. We can’t deny that we live in a country with far too many rules and laws. Not only that, but we have far too many authorities checking up on you. It feels like some of them in Building and Housing, particularly those responsible for the agricultural/countryside cases, were specifically selected for the job for their ability to say ‘NO’. And this is reflected in the answers they give. If you ask “Is this or that allowed?”, their answer is never “This is what’s possible or you could do this if…”. No, the answer is always, “That is not allowed.” This is why it’s useful to have someone like Feije working on your case. She remains friendly, stays in touch, doesn’t allow herself to be put off by the snail’s pace of municipal government and, what’s more, she has top-class knowledge of laws and regulations, and possible alternative ways of interpreting them. This, combined with a real ability to convince others, has made me someone who will forever be a happy customer.

I came into contact with Feije some time ago through an external party. As we immediately felt able to put our all our trust in Feije, we transferred to Mount Consultancy. Mount is supporting our change of land use application during the purchase of our house. From the first instant, Feije came up with good insights and ideas, to our benefit. We have known Feije from Mount Consultancy for a long time through our mutual hobby/passion: horses. When we bought our house in Valkenswaard last year, she helped us with several projects. We had no idea there was so much involved. Feije researched all the possibilities for our horsing hobby on our plot of land. We wanted to cut down some of the trees. She discovered that a study of the local flora and fauna would mean that we didn’t need a permit to cut down trees, and put us in touch with someone who prepared the study. She also made it possible to get planning permission for our fencing, so we could make it at the height we wanted. Feije also represented us well in a meeting with the municipality about our future stables and riding arena. We now have a good overview of what we can and cannot build. She has given us excellent information, has valuable contacts, knows what she’s talking about and how to get things done. We hope that we can continue to use her as a consultant for many years to come as we realise our dream project!
